I don’t know bout you but sometimes having to breakup with someone sucks! We all know the clichés like “It’s not you it’s me…” and ” I’m not sure we are on the same page anymore..” More and more people are meeting via social media & breaking up in the same way…

I then came across a book titled, The Breakup 2.0, author Ilana Gershon explores how college students are using technologically mediated ways to break up with their partners. These new mediums, particularly, Facebook, texting and instant messaging has changed the way romantic relationships work and end. Whereas earlier, relationships were marked by tangible symbols of connection such as pins and rings, they have now been replaced by relationship statuses on Facebook profiles. The book is based on Ilana’s interviews of seventy-two people who shared stories of being dumped via these new media….
