Before u shoot me, I know a gal can’t say things like that lightly – especially in the midst of this heavy Blackberry vs iPhone war that we find ourselves in. It pretty much IS a Blackberry, CROSSED with an iPhone, with…. wait for it…… HD VIDEO FOOTAGE!!!!!!!!! I must apologise for all the capitals, but damn I’m excited man!
And what’s even cooler (yeah.. it gets better) is the YouTube promo. I’ve never seen one like it – it ends in a DVD-style menu, with individual buttons that you can actually click on, and they actually take you to another youtube video, which also ends in the same menu – how super friggin rad is that??!! Maybe I’m behind in this but I think it’s pretty friggin dope. Check the video below – I’m gonna start hustling Nokia to get these into SA and into the IG office so we can give them away to some lucky grasses… keep your eyes on this space.
Some of you may have been following the drama between UCT & Stellenbosch lately (not the regular rivalry but something a little more crazy). So a UCT student named Anton Taylor wrote a somewhat discriminatory article about Stellenbosch students, meant as a joke but not received that way. You can read the article here but it sort of seems like a bit of a sidenote right now. This article has created so much drama and talk that it seems almost the size of Obama’s presidential campaign! After repeated threats and insulting facebook groups (if you don’t believe me just google him, it’s crazy). Groups pop up like “Anton Taylor is a sad pathetic human being”.
So instead of letting it bring him down, homie has come back with a video (explaination and apology). It’s pretty great I think. So why are we mentioning this? Because Anton’s controversial article has created the kind of viral buzz people can only dream about. Just like that. Twitter, Facebook and Youtube are going crazy with this content. Now if only he were only running for president Check out his video people. What do you think?

We here at IG, don’t quite know what make of the “Official soccer anthem for 2010″ My personal preference would have been to get Timbaland to collaborate with TKZee but hey, we cant always get what we want now! There has been a lot of hating for the song, and our opinion it should have been a local act (this case Freshlyground ft Shakira and not the otherway around…) unless Zolani is one of those Waka Waka people in the music video, they don’t feature at all…
Hmmm… I wonder if they are going to make the teams do the Waka before every match? Just wondering…
